12:10 PM CASE STUDY: ANU’s New Home at SA5 – Insights into the Design, Constructability and Student Satisfaction Driven Development

The $53 million building designed by Nettleton Tribe opened at the Australian National University in early 2017 and home to 500 students. The new building sits as a temporary home for Bruce Hall community before opening to the wider student community in 2019. Along with multi-kitchen halls, rooftop courtyard and the unique U-shaped design, the development of the accommodation encourages student interaction and to make the most of the entire location and facilities on offer. In this session, Trevor will explore:

  • Design: Creating interactive space that helps students better their learning experience and education
  • Constructability: Balancing the quality of services for students with University initiatives on sustainability and economic growth
  • Student Satisfaction: Considering the design components and participation of stakeholders to deliver the needs of student life
